{Tracking Your Diabetes Stats}

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Every so often I come across a new service or product that is worthy of a mention or a feature here on the Stick Me Designs Blog. Not too long ago I came across a site that although I do not directly deal with diabetes any more I know can be pretty useful for the e-control freaks out there. Diabetic Days is a new online manager-type service that you can use to log and track all of your diabetes stats. They make is pretty e-friendly you can submit your stats via the web, email, and by mobile (sms). So what does this mean for you? Well it means you can if you so choose keep an electronic ‘log book’ of your stats to monitor with your endo and you’re that much closer to that important info when you need it. Sweet* Go check them out and see if it’s a good fit for you.

{Calling all parents of young insulin pumpers…}

Friday, October 17th, 2008

For awhile now we’ve received numerous inquiries about carrying insulin pump accessories, designed especially for the littlest of pumpers. Up until now we’ve had to tell these parents we don’t carry pump accessories.

But after much thought, research and design brainstorm we may have a wonderful, and kid-cute insulin pump accessory.  We won’t go into too much details yet, but we’re so super excited about this collection exclusively for little insulin pumpers.

So staying true to our success model we’d like to ask any of you mommies and daddies out there who have little ones that are on the pump, what do you want to see in a carrying case for their pump?  We know what is available now and our idea/design is a very kid-cute functional take on them, but will delight your little one to no end :)

We want to hear your suggestions on what you’d want to see that isn’t readily available now or that can be improved on.  Maybe another attaching method, or maybe a different type of material, what do YOU want to see in a pump case? Send your ideas comments and suggestions to us at vote[at]stickmedesigns.com and tell us your thoughts.  We can’t wait to hear your inputs! :)

{Another Fabric Choice}

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

There’s one thing about designing accessories with fabric that you have to be aware of, and this a painful truth.  You must know the weight of the fabric before you select it!  I’ve uncovered some of the most beautifully printed fabrics around only to order them and have them be the wrong weight!  Arrrgggh!  This is part of my business that I love to hate. I love treasure hunting for different, bold prints, but hate having the UPS man delivery a thin, light airy fabric that just will not do for the Stick Me Designs bags!

So after all of you who have voted for the beautiful plum bouquet fabric,

we’ll have to go and select either choice number two, or another one altogether. I know I know…not cool. I get it, and we will get through this I promise. Once the cases are completed and available you’ll love ‘em.

Maybe something like these?  Whatcha think?
