It’s happening on a slow roll basis. Yup all of my thousand plus emails are slowly starting to take root. What did you not hear me correctly…yes I said a thousand and some emails. That is how many emails I’ve sent out in my personal quest to put Stick Me Designs on the stylish diabetes accessories map. They say persistence is a necessary evil when you strike it out on your own…boy they’re not kidding.
My local newspager the Virginian Pilot will be featuring Stick Me Designs for their weekly story of “At Work With…” guest starring yours truly quick *yay*. And if you haven’t heard from our homepage post already, we will be featured in this Fall’s Better Homes and Garden’s Diabetic Living and another quick *yay yay*. I’m psyched.
If you’re thinking of starting your own business know this…it’s not easy…it’s not always fun…and it’s especially difficult if you have small children at home with you during ‘normal working hours’. But…and here is my saving grace…it is all totally worth it. I’m in love with what I’m doing and that is one of the most satisfying feelings you can have.

Since our quest began last October we have met some pretty amazing women, moms and entrepreneurs that like us are inspired to bring our customers and friends something a little different and unique to their lives. We decided that because some of their products and services are quite a pleasure, that we shouldn’t keep them to ourselves any longer. So after listening to all of my wonderful customers and taking cues from my design instinct we’ve decided to pre-launch our first carry-all collection. The Jet Setter line is the perfect carry-all for when you need a little more d-goods and you’d still like to carry things with you like a wallet, bottled water and lip gloss to name a few. Ahh the smell of barbecue, the feel of fresh cut grass and wonderful visit from the in-laws. Isn’t holidays saweet! Well as we prepare for their arrival we clean up a bit, I take a bit of a break from the ‘office’ and we enjoy the weekend. Hope you’ll do the same. I’m still getting used to the idea of really being a mom. I guess I sometimes forget that there is actually a day that we celebrate it now that I am a mother. I still look at myself sometimes and I think “geez I do have two little people who count on me everyday to be their mom” and that is a wonderful but scary feeling. I know I’m not alone on this one, but this year I thought rather than pestering my husband to try to figure out what I wanted, I thought I’d treat myself. Here’s what I got…

My struggle with weight loss is something that I’m tired of dealing with. I know I’m not alone but I sometimes think that most of that stuff just doesn’t work for me. For one I gain weight like a man does, I have a very picky eating lifestyle and I like what I like. Thankfully most of the things I like is good for me food. But I’m not going to go on too much about this subject just putting it out there so I’m accountable some way. I’m starting the Firm workouts today, and my prayer is that this will be different. I’ll give itermittent updates as I progress, hopefully I’ll progress.
